Development of a micropixel silicon photomultiplier

|Description:||The aim of the project was to develop a micropixel silicon photomultiplier(MPSPM) with large dynamic range, high photodetection efficiency and short recovery time. This was based on the realization of an internal microcathode matrix and an internal quenching mechanism. The traditional surface-mounted poly resistors were replaced by the internal effective resistors integrated vertically below the microcells.
The MPSPM can replace vacuum tube photomultipliers and surpass the performance of traditional silicon photomultipliers. The main application area is medical diagnostics such as PET and MR-PET as well as high energy physics experiment for electromagnetic calorimeter.
