Refractive Index Speckle-Tech Integrating Sphere
| German title: | Refractive Index Speckle-Tech Integrating Sphere | |
| Acronym: | ReSpektIS | |
| Duration: | 1st April 2026 - 30th September 2028 | |
| Description: | The aim of the market-oriented project "New Refractive Index Sensor" is to develop a novel, compact optical component for a measurement system designed to perform highly accurate relative measurements of the refractive index of gaseous media, or a refractometer based on an integrating sphere for highly sensitive refractive index measurements of gaseous media (Δn < 1 × 10⁻⁶). A key innovation is the use of optical fibers to both couple light into the integrating sphere and guide it back to the camera. The design of the ReSpektIS system involves several optical, mechanical, and electronic interfaces, which increases the complexity of the project and creates additional potential risk points. Appropriate measures are planned along clearly defined milestones. The main challenge is to control environmental influences in order to ensure the required measurement stability. |
