This year, more than 100 teams responded to the city of Erfurt’s call to “cycle for a good climate.” With 828,122 kilometers, the cyclists set a new record and saved a total of 136 tons of CO2. Among them was the 16-member team from the CiS Research Institute, which cycled around 3,000 kilometers during the campaign period.
For every 1,000 kilometers cycled, the city administration will donate a tree, which will be planted on October 29, 2025, in the Geraaue north of the Auenteich. Hard-working hands will then plant 828 climate-resistant young trees. At around 2 p.m., the mayor will honor the most successful cycling teams.
We would like to congratulate our team and all other participants on this success.
City Cycling is a campaign organized by the Climate Alliance. Cities, teams, and individual cyclists work together to promote climate protection, livable communities, and good bike paths.
