Appointment of Dr Thomas Ortlepp by the President of the YNU, Prof. Kunio Suzuki
Dr Thomas Ortlepp takes over the newly created Chair of Sensor Technology and Energy Efficient Microelectronics at Yokohama National University in Japan.
The appointment as “Distinguished Professor” of the university in Yokohama is an expression of special academic honours. In a ceremony on 17 February 2015 at the Institute of Applied Sciences of Yokohama University, the President, Prof. Kunio Suzuki, presented the certificate of appointment. With this appointment, the university consciously wants to follow the ideals of the city of Yokohama: “be active, be innovative, be open and think globally” and in this way network itself more internationally.
Dr Ortlepp will continue in his role as Managing Director and Head of Research, Development and Technology at the CiS Research Institute and will lead the chair mainly in an advisory capacity. Prof. Yoshikawa will coordinate the research work on site.
