The first CiS Workshop 2023 was themed “Modern Analytics for Innovative and Sustainable Sensing & Materials Science” and highlighted current results from research and development in modern analytics for the semiconductor industry on June 6, 2023. Two more exciting CiS Workshops will take place in September 2023 at the CiS Research Institute in Erfurt, Germany
For the fourth time, the CiS Research Institute participated in the environmental competition “Stadtradeln” (city cycling). The 15-member team cycled 2,750 kilometers during the campaign period. Thereby, the cyclists could not only avoid 446 kg CO2, but also won two trees for the tree planting campaign.
On 23rd June 2023, after a long break, a Science Night was held at our company again. Between 6 PM and 11 PM, young and old were able to take part in guided tours, visit stands, experiment for themselves and quench their thirst for knowledge in conversation with our employees

On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the CiS Research Institute, colleagues met on Friday afternoon at the Petersberg in Erfurt. Thomas Ortlepp and Thomas Brock thanked all present employees for the trustful cooperation. As location the east terrace on the Petersberg offered a fantastic panoramic view over Erfurt
Also this year, three workshops on silicon-based sensor technology and related, current research results and latest trends within the individual focus topics will take place. CiS Forschungsinstitut hosted the second After-Work-BBQ of FIZ e.V. and offered plenty of space for networking and personal exchange with cool drinks and delicious barbecue with Thuringian grilled sausages and grilled vegetables. Within the scope of the in-house exhibition and the tour through the analytics center, the guests were able to get to know the portfolio of the CiS Research Institute better
In the new research project NH3-BZ, the CiS Research Institute will develop a photoacoustic sensor for hydrogen generation based on green ammonia. For this purpose, so-called crackers are used, which catalytically decompose the ammonia into a gas mixture of hydrogen and nitrogen
