Diamond as a sensory element and its properties and applications

Over a period of three and a half years, the project team in the BMBF joint project “DiaQuantFab – Diamond Materials for Industrial Applications” investigated and developed optical microsensor systems based on NV centers in diamond. A holistic approach was taken along the value chain from diamond production and manipulation to the finished sensor system. The selected sensor systems were magnetic field sensors for the application areas of position measurement technology, scanning probe microscopy as well as current measurement.

Implantable silicon dosimeters for radiation therapy

Based on pulse-sensitive electronics, biocompatible implantable silicon dosimeters for radiation therapy could be developed in the R&D project SiDo at the CiS Research Institute. In vivo dosimeters based on this technology can measure the radiation exposure in the immediate vicinity of a carcinoma during radiation therapy

Presentation of funding notification by Minister Tiefensee

Thuringia’s Minister of Economic Affairs, Mr. Tiefensee, presented a funding decision to the two managing directors, Mr. Brock and Prof. Ortlepp, during his visit to the CiS Research Institute on November 29, 2022. The funds come from EU REACT funds. Industry-related research institutions from Thuringia were able to qualify in a competitive call. The focus was on technologies and processes for a more sustainable use of energy and resources

Project smartBond: Development of a high-precision, form-fit-supported flip-chip thermo-compression method

In the smartBond project, the assembly and force-fit and electrically conductive joining of photodiodes to hybrid detector modules was investigated and optimized by means of thermocompression bonding with chemically electrodeposited pillar structures and their highly accurate positioning by means of so-called self-alignment.
