Next week, on 26th September 2023, the CiS workshop “Modelling in Microsystems Engineering” will take place in Erfurt as a hybrid event.
In microsystems technology, reliable simulation tools are a prerequisite for supporting the design of components and systems through comprehensive modelling at all levels. This enables functional and design concepts to be confirmed and selected at an early stage of development. Versatile design environments are used for this purpose to represent physical and technological relationships and to ensure an efficient manufacturing process.
The workshop will discuss mechanical and optical simulations as well as multidomain modelling, focusing on silicon MEMS and MOEMS.
Prof. Peter Schneider, Fraunhofer IIS/EAS and Dresden University of Technology, will introduce the topic and open the discourse with his keynote speech “Challenges and perspectives for the development of adaptive microelectronic systems”.
In the rest of the programme, Dr Georg Gläser, IMMS, among others, will address new tools for design support in his lecture “Artificial Intelligent EDA”. In a session on the simulation of MOEMS, Dr Bernhard Michel, Hembach Photonik GmbH, will present a method for identifying and quantifying false light entering an optical system. The CiS Research Institute is participating with three contributions, which on the one hand present semiconductor-physical simulation tools for modelling piezoresistive resistance bridges and for comparing different simulation applications for modelling optical sensors, and on the other hand explain the determination of material parameters in polycrystalline silicon using the example of piezoresistive coefficients.
Look forward to exciting contributions from science and industry as well as ample opportunity for professional exchange and networking.
