“VIPO” growth core nears successful completion
Together with project partners in the BMBF-funded growth core “VIPO”, we are working on virtual product and process optimization for monitoring rotating machines. This involves linking real-time information from sensor networks with detailed product and process simulation using correlation models in the digital twin
Project Start QSolid – Quantum Computer in Solid State Technology
In the QSolid project, 24 partners are developing scalable technologies for a competitive German quantum computer with at least 100 individually controllable qubits. The basis for this are superconducting solid-state circuits. Within the consortium, the CiS Research Institute is developing new integration methods and extremely energy-efficient electronic circuits for the quantum processor. The total project volume is 76 million euros
IVAM Mid-Week Coffee Break and the Growth Core HIPS
Next week, the CiS Research Institute with Dr. Olaf Brodersen will host the IVAM Mid-Week Coffee Break. The virtual technology talk on Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2022 from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. will cover the Thuringian Growth Core HIPS. Prof. Thomas Ortlepp will additionally give first insights into possible applications
Project start ZugKraftSensor – Elastically stable tensile force sensors for belt tension monitoring
To determine belt tension, the CiS Research Institute is developing a tensile force sensor based on Si strain gauges that are integrated directly into the steel cord of the belt. The project starts on 01.02.2022 and aims at applications in the drive technology of large plants
Thuringian joint project KODIAK – Components and modules for improved optical diagnostics
In the new 2-year Thuringian joint project KODIAK, the CiS Research Institute will develop comprehensive packaging modules for hybrid connection of analog and digital SPAD circuits with micro-optical components, electrical contacting processes, passivation and packaging solutions
UVC LEDs: Increased optical performance thanks to an optimized encapsulation material
A series of technical conferences will be held in parallel to the SPIE Photonics West Exhibition.
