The first Thuringian Aerospace Day took place on 1st October 2026, at the ad hoc Arena in the Ernst-Abbe-Sportfeld in Jena. The joint event, organized by the Thuringian Ministry of Economic Affairs, LEG Thüringen, and the Saxony/Thuringia Competence Center for Aerospace Technology (LRT), brought together numerous stakeholders from business, academia, and politics. The CiS Research Institute was also present as an exhibitor.
The event focused on pressing industry issues such as technological sovereignty, resilient supply chains, and sustainable decarbonization. In addition to technical presentations and panel discussions on civil and military applications, the program also featured an accompanying exhibition to facilitate direct exchange.
For the CiS Research Institute, the event provided an important platform to showcase its own developments in the field of high-precision silicon sensors and optoelectronic microsystems. These technologies form an essential foundation for reliable operation under extreme conditions in aerospace. From the CiS Research Institute’s perspective, the first edition of the event was a complete success. The event provided excellent networking opportunities and generated valuable ideas for future research collaborations in Thuringia.
