Thirteen selected founder teams faced the jury of members of the business-related research institutes of the FTVT on 30.01.2020. Within a year, the new Thuringian start-up competition “getstarted2gether” had spread overseas and attracted innovative ideas to implement them in Thuringia with business-related research institutions. Within a 10 minute pitch they presented their ideas and above all their market chances and perspectives to the audience. An exciting variety of industries was represented, from the construction industry with resource-saving tiny houses, to safety in charging devices for electromobility, to mechanical engineering, medicine and optical high-tech components.
Dr. Bernd Ebersold, Head of Department at the Thuringian Ministry of Economy, Science and Digital Society (TMWWDG), opened the competition. The high number of submissions confirmed the great interest of young start-ups in such a funding offer, which complements the previous measures to encourage founders in Thuringia and is already bearing fruit. Ten of the thirteen founding teams were given the chance to cooperate with a thematically suitable business-related research institution and successfully advance their ideas over the next six months. On the same evening, LOIs (Letters of Intent) were signed between the individual founders and suitable research institutes.
Polytives GmbH was awarded for the best presentation and thus as the winner of the evening. The young founders from Jena convinced with their presentation on “Novel Additives for Plastics”, in which they explained the possibilities of replacing plasticizers in plastics – a topic that directly affects every area of life.
The CiS Research Institute congratulates all founders and their innovative ideas.

The CiS Research Institute will provide advice and support to DC Industrie Entwicklung GmbH over the next six months. The topic “Early fault detection in high-performance batteries” will increase the safety measures in the expansion of electromobility, through special sensors that already announce a very early ignition.
The next round was also announced, inviting participation as early as the end of March 2020.
