With the retirement of the long-standing managing director, Dr Hans-Joachim Freitag, in the spring of this year, Prof. Dr Thomas Ortlepp took over the management of the CiS Forschungsinstitut für Mikrosensorik GmbH. The supervisory board of CiS has now appointed Mr Thomas Brock as a further managing director with effect from 1 August 2016 and has given him responsibility for marketing and finance/controlling

The SMARTER-SI project offers a novel manufacturing platform across Europe on which innovative and intelligent sensor components and microsystems can be produced cost-effectively in small and medium quantities. Around 5.3 million euros in funding will flow into the development and testing of this platform until 2018
