On the occasion of the celebration of the 30th anniversary of GFE – Gesellschaft für Fertigungstechnik und Entwicklung Schmalkalden e.V., the Tech-Expo was held yesterday on the premises of GFE in Schmalkalden. At the “Tech-Expo Tools & Production”, Thuringian science and research partners from business-related research institutions, universities and colleges as well as network partners of the GFE presented a selection of projects on this interesting topic, for example the CiS Research Institute with microsensor technology for production and manufacturing technology.
As a highlight, we showed miniaturized probes (cantilevers) made of monocrystalline silicon with integrated piezoresistive measuring bridge for fast inline quality control of components of different materials. Such sensors can be supplied as bare chips, as circuit boards with analog or digital output (test boards) or as customer-specific setups. Visitors were also able to see current research results such as a probe system with greatly reduced probing force for determining instrumented indentation hardness or microsensors for the direction of light incidence.
We congratulate again on 30 years of developments and innovations.
