With team spirit, good cheer, and a competitive drive, four relay teams from the CiS Research Institute took on the challenge at the 38th Erfurt Triathlon. On Sunday, 23rd August 2026, the triathlon community gathered at the beautiful Stotternheim beach in pleasant late-summer weather for its annual showdown. This popular family and sports event for all age groups attracted more than 850 participants to the starting line this year. In the sprint relay, more than 30 teams competed for the top honors. The triathlon disciplines consisted of a 750-meter swim, a 20-kilometer bike ride, and a 5-kilometer run. Ten teams competed in the corporate division, including four teams from the CiS Research Institute under the motto “Microsensors, Macro Performance.” Supported and loudly cheered on by spectators along the courses, all relay teams delivered outstanding performances.
We congratulate all teams and especially our CiS teams on their successful performance. A heartfelt thank you also goes to the Erfurt Running and Triathlon Club (Lauf- und Triathlon-Verein Erfurt e.V.) and the many volunteers for their professional organization, as well as to Bernd Sprenger for the great photos.
