On 5th and 6th May 2026, the European trade fair for quantum technologies and photonics will take place for the second time at Messe Erfurt. At Booth 615 in Hall 2, the CiS Research Institute will present its portfolio of quantum technologies: NV-based sensors, quantum processors, and the necessary fabrication and interconnection techniques. For example, NV centers—or nitrogen-vacancy centers—are well-known defects in the diamond lattice. Using such optically active NV centers, physical effects can be observed even at room temperature that can be described exclusively by quantum physical models. Visitors are cordially invited to discuss ideas, technologies, and potential applications of quantum technologies with our experts at the CiS Research Institute’s booth.
In the midst of the trade exhibition, the so-called Coffee Pitches offer an open lecture forum for interested trade show visitors and experts, alongside the accompanying conference. In a relaxed atmosphere, presentations will cover technical innovations from the world of quantum and photonics, for example in the fields of sensor technology and quantum computing. Dr. Mario Bähr, a researcher at the CiS Research Institute, will delve deeper into these technologies during a Coffee Pitch. His presentation, “Enabling Technologies for Quantum Applications,” will take place on Tuesday, 5th May 2026, at 15:15 in Hall 2 on the conference stage. The presentation will be in English.
Quantum Photonics is a parallel event to Rapid.tech, the leading trade fair for additive manufacturing. It opens up the potential to integrate these two fields, for example in the production of high-precision components in small batches.
