Practical microsensor technology – medical technology students visit the research institute

During a visit by students from KOMET (Conference of Medical Technology Student Councils from German-speaking Countries) on May 26, 2025, they were able to gain a small insight into our fascinating world of microsensor technology. MEMS Business Unit Manager Dr. Klaus Ettrich presented a selected range of sensor developments for medical applications. Dr. Bernd Hähnlein generated enthusiasm and practical relevance at the scanning electron microscope of the CiS Analytics Competence Center with the finest structures that are invisible to the naked eye

Thomas Brock, Managing Director of the CiS Research Institute, presented current research results and their application in industry. During the discussion, he also referred to the important role of business-oriented research institutions in the realization of innovative ideas from SMEs

Happy Easter – Creative competition for our employees’ children

Once again this year, the management of the CiS Research Institute invited children to take part in a creative activity during the Easter period. The children of all employees were asked to submit pictures they had drawn of the Easter Bunny or Easter crafts they had made themselves. Every child who took part received a sweet surprise as a reward. The numerous creative submissions from the young artists can be admired in our online gallery

NO-TICE project launch: Minimizing the temperature dependence of the measurement signal due to zero point drift

The newly launched NO-TICE research project at the CiS Research Institute involves investigating ways of compensating for the influence of temperature, particularly on the zero point of the raw signal in sensors with very low transverse strain sensitivity, in order to minimize the amount of calibration required and thus conserve resources in terms of costs, time, and materials
